Wings and Roots

So we all survived the first Semester at Penn! But is sure is great to have Michael home for a few weeks. His wings are getting stronger, but he still has roots that need nurturing.

Everyone knows that you have to give your kids wings and roots. The real test of that for us was when our first son went off to college this past August. Seeing those wings spread was very difficult, yet very fulfilling, to see the results of 18 years of love and nurturing. I am happy to say that while his wings have functioned better than we could have hoped, his roots are still strong and are still benefitting from the nurturing they are still receiving when he is home during winter break!
